This looks deceptively like sticky pork belly but I promise, no piggies were harmed 🐷

This is great served with stir-fried greens and rice - you don’t really need much else because the tofu is so flavourful.

Ingredients (serves 2):

  • 1 block firm tofu

  • 2 tsp brown sugar (could use maple syrup instead)

  • 1tbsp barbeque sauce/marinade

  • dash of liquid smoke (if you can’t get hold of this, just skip it but it does really add a lot to the overall flavour)

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 grated garlic clove

  • 1tsp smoked paprika

  • 2tbsp oil

Method:

  1. Cube the tofu into bite-sized pieces

  2. Mix all of the ingredients together and leave the tofu pieces to marinate for as long as you can (20 minutes minimum but overnight is best)

  3. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees c (fan) and bake the tofu on a lined baking tray for around 20 minutes.

  4. Top with spring onions and sesame seeds
